In July 2016, Lai-momo, Italian organization managing asylum-seeker welcome centre, and the International Trade Centre’s Ethical Fashion Initiative launched a vocational training centre for migrants in Italy. In this training centre, 18 asylum-seekers are undergoing an on-the-job learning programme to acquire a skillset in leather goods making. Once fully trained, the migrant apprentices will have increased their employability and be valued resources for the fashion and lifestyle manufacturing
