A father and son have been sentenced to four and a half years each behind bars for attacking a man they’d never met with a machete and a baseball bat after getting into an argument in the Sainsburys Local store in Cobham in October 2023.<br/><br/>Alfred Chambers 45 and Alfie Chambers 23 of Molesey Close, Cobham were sentenced at Guildford Crown Court on Thursday , March 7, 2024, after pleading guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon. Alfred also pleaded guilty to criminal damage.<br/>The court heard how Alfie Chambers went to the Sainsburys Local store in Cobham High Street around 10.40pm on Friday 27 October 2023 and became involved in a verbal argument with another man whom he’d never met. The argument became heated and staff from the store intervened. The two of them left the shop and Alfie then went to his car and produced a baseball bat which he used to threaten the victim.
